Last day in Trujillo, a town that I did not particularly like… I have the bus to Mancora at 7.30 p.m., so the whole day is at my disposal…
Since the sea is close by I decide to go lie down on the beach for a while, but first I have to figure out how to get there. I would like to take a bus, but as always I don’t understand anything 😂
I ask for information and after walking back and forth for half an hour without finding a stop, I find a bus standing at the traffic lights and get on it. Only to be told by the driver that he is going directly the other way 😅
I finally find the right bus and after half an hour of travelling, between wind in my face (due to open doors and windows), Latin music accompanied by horns I arrive at Huanchaco beach. I start walking along the seafront to choose the best place to lie down and after a few minutes I meet the girl from the hostel who had left the day before.
Accompanied by an Israeli guy and a Bulgarian girl, she tells me that she is going for a surfing lesson and asks if I want to join. Why not!
After all, I have been wanting to try it for a long time!
Unexpectedly, I find myself paddling in the surf and trying to figure out how to stand on the board! Super complicated 😆
But so much fun!!!
Not having planned it I’m super disorganised, I don’t even have a towel to dry myself, but spontaneous things are the best!
After passing through their hostel and meeting a Japanese guy who is an expert on drugs 😆 we go for lunch. A vegetarian burrito and then it’s time for goodbyes.
A couple of hours later I find myself in the bus station waiting for the call and surrounded by the fans of the football team from a nearby town who have come on an away trip. I really hope I don’t have anyone on the bus, after a day full of surprises and adrenaline I would like to get some sleep (not going to happen!).
In the end, Trujillo also left me with a pleasant day, new friends and good memories. But it is time to board the bus, where the destination ‘Mancora’ is written.
Door 3, prepare ticket and passport…..
