Being the water lover that I am, I couldn’t help but mention the Pacific Ocean. On my first day in Lima, needless to say, one of my goals was to see the ocean. Great expectations, I had never seen it before. Crystal clear waters, pristine beaches, palm trees and fine sand. None of that!
The water is a green/gray color, anything but crystal clear. The beach, huge, is composed of stones in some places and pebbles in others, which with the heat of the sun turn into hot coals that grill the soles of your feet 🙂

The palm trees… there are some, but there are definitely more in the city center than near the sea. In short, the first impact was a disappointment.
Walking along the seafront, however, I began to notice a few details. First of all, the scent of the sea, which for the ocean seems even more pronounced. The numerous surfers, who color the sea with many colored dots. The relaxed atmosphere and the huge spaces, completely different from our beaches. The peddlers, always kind and never pushy, offering drinks, ice creams and sandwiches.

I decided to go in the water, the waves were too inviting and to my great surprise the ocean temperature was warm! Needless to say, I was having the time of my life, while my back was slowly turning into an impressionist painting (thanks to my ability to spread the cream :D) but I still didn’t know at that moment… Oceano Pacífico, I like you too!
