The Paracas Nature Reserve, an immense desert area abutting the ocean, offers fabulous views.
From expanses of sand to cliffs silhouetted against the frothy ocean.
All under a blazing sun, which makes the landscape even more impressive.
After a short meal we set off again toward a new destination: Huacachina.

The journey is quite short, only a few hours by bus, however, ongoing clashes are complicating things. Fortunately on the road we encounter only the remnants of previous demonstrations: stones on the roadway, vehicles and buildings burned to the side. Armed forces are everywhere, there is a heavy atmosphere.
The bus reaches its destination without too much trouble. Huacachina is an oasis in the desert, complete with a pond and exotic plants on the sides. It is really a tourist attraction, though; in fact, the buildings are all either lodgings or restaurants.

Mine would have been a bed in a dormitory of 6, however due to a problem with reservations I get a double room, to be shared with one other person, which however does not arrive, at least for now…. Lucky day!
