I return to ‘my city’, nowhere until this point of the trip have I felt so at home as in Lima.
By now I know the city very well, I know a lot of people, it really feels like home. This time, however, it will not be to visit it, it will be to experience it. Between home-cooked lunches and dinners, days at the pool, walking along the malecon and trips to the surrounding area, the days go by one after the other, always too fast! Only one thing recurs every day, the same and punctual. The pained but discreet crying of a woman. Every morning. In the next room. A sound with which I woke up every day, but which stops as soon as I leave my room. A sad but at the same time disturbing sensation.
The walks are wasted, meanwhile autumn arrives in Lima. The humidity makes 18 degrees feel like 10. The days are increasingly cloudy, the ‘neblina’ covers the city almost every morning, creating a surreal atmosphere. It feels like being in the Po Valley, a thick and almost impenetrable fog, all with an ocean view 😆
But then the sun comes out and the heat is felt… until the evening… The thousand climates of Lima…
