Who would have imagined that in an Andean lake, at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, on the other side of the world, I would find myself harvesting potatoes! Life is unpredictable! And there are black potatoes!!! Adolfo and Justa are incredible hosts, always ready to help, always caring but never intrusive, with a friendly word but never being too much! Even the food Justa prepares is like them, simple, genuine, sincere and delicious. Yes, there are no restaurants or bars on the island, just a couple of familiar little stores that are, however, located on the other side. The island of Amantaní is sprinkled with small cottages, cultivated fields, donkeys, horses, and families helping with the crops. All wearing typical clothes. It feels like going back in time. A leap into a past when televisions and telephones did not yet exist, the only technological device is the radio, which punctuates the days and poets a little information in a place far from the world. Everyone walks, cars do not exist, very few motorcycles, counted on fingers. Heating does not exist, although it is quite cold at night. The bathroom is outside and the shower as well. Two days completely disconnected from modern life, in a reality that no longer exists, a rural life that has long since disappeared from most places, not only in the West but in the world. Two days of unspoiled nature and incredible landscapes, exquisite people and natural food. Two fabulous days!
