Last day. I take it easy in the morning, after a pretty ‘difficult’ night, I try to eat as little as possible, I still don’t feel well.
I take a walk in the late morning, feeding myself on fruit juices. 😕
In the afternoon I decide to go to the cinema to see Jurassic World in Spanish with a ‘Rola’ (that’s how the girls in Bogota are called). By now my level of Spanish allows me to follow the whole film without problems (an horrible movie) but I spend a pleasant afternoon. The taxi to the airport is driven by a gentleman with whom I decide to have a little chat, just to distract myself a little. After several routine questions, he tells me that I speak good Spanish and asks me where my flight arrives. After answering that it arrives in Madrid he tells me that Spaniards also defend themselves well with Spanish (???? 😆😂).
The rest of the evening is all a wait in front of the airport gate, the controls are very quick for an intercontinental flight (they ask me absolutely nothing!! Covid who??). The flight is full, except for the two seats next to me! A shameless luck, I take advantage of it to make myself comfortable. The dinner provided by the airline is either pasta or chicken. For obvious reasons I choose chicken, which is not so bad. A small bottle of wine and after half an hour I am already asleep. The drugs have taken effect, soporific effect!!!
And that’s how I say goodbye to South America, slumped on the seat of a plane, half dazed by medicines and wine, sleeping with my mouth open (maybe even snoring 🤣), very tired, tanned, with very light hair from the sun, in dazzling physical shape despite the last few days I have not been too well, happy, with a bag of memories and experiences that I will carry with me forever, an incredible number of new friendships that I never hoped to make, with a deeper knowledge of myself and with the promise that this is only a goodbye. Goodbye Latin America, see you soon!!!!
