The day to leave Ecuador has arrived. Rise and shine at 3.45am, the airport is about an hour away by car and later there is a strike (which will later turn into a revolt and coup attempt). Half asleep I leave the hostel and get into the taxi. I am too tired to think 😂.
At the airport the checks are quick, in a flash I am in front of the gate and all I have to do is eat breakfast. As I realise that Ecuador is the country of the famous hats….
And thinking about my experience in the country, I have not spent enough time or visited enough places to fall in love with the culture and get to know the facets of local life. However, I can say that, despite the less than perfect climate (after all, winter starts here) and the architecture of the cities that is very much influenced by the West, like other sides of society, the country is beautiful, ideal for a first impact with Latin America, mild compared to other countries. And so begins another stage of the journey, a new country, a new adventure… hello Ecuador and thank you for the beautiful gift you have given me!
